Think back to those family meals that warmed your heart.
Maybe it was a grandparent’s secret recipe, a dish your parents made with love, or something unforgettable a friend once cooked for you. We all crave that feeling of home—of gathering, sharing, and being connected.
We’re bringing that spirit to life at our new location, 340 Barton Street East. Here, you’ll find coffee, drinks, and comfort food made with locally sourced ingredients preserved fresh and in season. We focus on fermentation, slow food, and crafting pure, unforgettable flavors. Whether you need a cozy spot to work with a coffee in hand, a place to catch up with friends, somewhere to host your next event, or a laid-back brunch, we’ve got a warm cup and a welcoming space waiting for you.

And this is just the beginning.
One day, ElderCamp will be more than a café—it will be a true community retreat. A place with a shared kitchen, event space, and cozy cabins for overnight stays. A space for storytelling, learning, and building traditions together—not through structured workshops, but by passing down knowledge, lending a hand, and forging real connections.
At ElderCamp, we embrace the resources around us—preserving seasonal produce, making breads and dumplings when food prices rise, or learning new skills to create handmade heirlooms. It’s about tradition, resilience, and community. And we can’t wait for you to be part of it.
ElderCamp began in 2019 under the name NanaCamp, founded by Kathryn Dieroff and Nadine Ubl. Creativity, community and craftsmanship have always been at the heart of everything they do.
A designer goldsmith, sewist, and chef, Kathryn has been learning hands-on skills since childhood—whether it was baking pies with her nana, sewing with her mom, developing film in the darkroom, painting, stitching, or crafting the perfect sandwich with her brother. She’s always been drawn to the challenge of doing things herself, turning everyday moments into acts of care and creativity.
With a deep passion for storytelling—both visual and written—Kathryn earned an Honours Bachelor of Arts in Cultural Studies from Trent University. She later attended George Brown College for Jewellery Arts and Design, apprenticing under master goldsmith and gemsetter Carl Torode.
Kathryn launched her first business in 1999 and has been self-employed ever since. From working in co-working spaces to running a retail store, selling her creations across Canada, and participating in festivals and shows, she’s built a career on craftsmanship, community, and connection. And with ElderCamp, she’s bringing that same spirit of hands-on learning, shared knowledge, and creativity to life.
